Story

Hey, I’m Amy (she/her)! My delight in color started young in the purple-y mountains of Vermont with a bedroom floor covered in a wild mess of beads and thread. Today, each wearable whimsy is a bold swirl of color, pattern, and texture meant to support your resilience and self expression. I hope these pieces remind you to look up, stay soft, and make more whimsy.

All pieces are handmade slowly and lovingly in small batches in my home studio in Burlington, Vermont, known to be unceded land of the Abenaki nation. I started doing this creative work only a few months ago so I’m still very much playing with different mediums and uncovering my creative voice as well as unlearning business-as-usual and dreaming about what might be possible.* In this journey, here are some of the questions guiding my explorations and experiments:

 ✨ adornment, joy, ritual design

What might it look like to empower humans to adorn themselves in ways that support their worthiness and joy? What might it look like to support each other in designing intentional care rituals?

The magic of jewelry is that it “stands at once as aspiration and manifestation.” - Jewelry: The Body Transformed

✨ practicing for a different future

What might it look like to re-imagine / recover business "stewardship" (word from Clarinda Braun) as a place for practicing interdependence and sustainability?

“When money is at the center, people become the tool. When people are at the center, money becomes the tool.” - Clarinda Braun

 ✨ liberation

What might it look like to take co-conspirating actions today and long-term within this business?

“Where we are born into privilege, we are charged with dismantling any myth of supremacy. Where we are born into struggle, we are charged with claiming our dignity, joy, and liberation.” - adrienne maree brown

 ✨ small actions and interdependence

What might it look like to nurture relationships with those in our ecosystem so we might all grow into our most excellent selves?

“Emergence notices the way small actions and connections create complex systems, patterns that become ecosystems and societies… the whole is a mirror of the parts.” - adrienne maree brown

I am in a season of building and learning, and I don’t have answers to these questions yet—but I wanted to share where I am dwelling and researching. I also want to share that one of the best parts of all of this is connecting with more and more of ya'll who love big earring energy too! It makes my heart so sparkly to see these little rainbow friends end up with such lovely humans!
